Jeho v\u00fdhody jsou ve srovn\u00e1n\u00ed s t\u00edm induk\u010dn\u00edm jednozna\u010dn\u00e9 \u2013 o polovinu ni\u017e\u0161\u00ed spot\u0159eba elekt\u0159iny, neblikaj\u00ed p\u0159i startu a nejsou citliv\u00e9 na \u010dast\u00e9 rozsv\u011bcen\u00ed a zhas\u00edn\u00e1n\u00ed.&#13; Index pod\u00e1n\u00ed barev Ra&#13; Barva chromati\u010dnosti (sv\u011bteln\u00e9 spektrum) a index pod\u00e1n\u00ed barev Ra, kter\u00fd porovn\u00e1v\u00e1 sv\u011bteln\u00fd zdroj se spektrem vyza\u0159ovan\u00fdm sluncem, byl obecn\u011b u prvn\u00edch typ\u016f kompaktn\u00edch z\u00e1\u0159ivek velmi n\u00edzk\u00fd. Zpravidla se jednalo o na\u017eloutl\u00e9 tepl\u00e9 odst\u00edny b\u00edl\u00e9ho sv\u011btla, kter\u00e9 byly vhodn\u00e9 pro ve\u010dern\u00ed tlumen\u00e9 osv\u011btlen\u00ed, nikoliv pro pr\u00e1ci. Chyb\u011bj\u00edc\u00ed modr\u00e1 barva spektra zp\u016fsobovala \u00fanavu a navozovala sp\u00ed\u0161e relaxa\u010dn\u00ed atmosf\u00e9ru, ne\u017e aby podn\u011bcovala k pracovn\u00edmu \u00fasil\u00ed a bd\u011bn\u00ed. To v\u0161ak platilo p\u0159ed dv\u011bma des\u00edtkami let. Dnes se pom\u011brn\u011b b\u011b\u017en\u011b na trhu vyskytuj\u00ed i plnospektr\u00e1ln\u00ed osv\u011btlovac\u00ed zdroje, jejich\u017e index Ra je velmi vysok\u00fd (kolem 85).
